Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have an on-and-off relationship apparently because of several reasons. In addition to that, Gigi's mom, Yolanda Hadid, reportedly, wasn't in favor of her romance with the former One Direction member.
Earlier this year, Star magazine claimed Yolanda Hadid wasn't pleased when her 25- year-old daughter rekindled romance with Malik. At the time, the tabloid claimed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was "fearful" of Gigi's relationship with Zayn.
The reality star was, reportedly, worried about the "Pillowtalk" singer's attitude of being a control freak and a "distraction" to Gigi. The source of the tabloid claimed Gigi is at the peak of her career as a model and businesswoman and her family believed that the last thing she needs is a "bad-influence boyfriend."
Life & Style, also, alleged that the Hadid family was convinced that Gigi's relationship with the singer will end in tears. A tabloid claimed Yolanda Hadid, in particular, doesn't think Zayn is the right one for her daughter.
The tabloid, also, cited a source as saying no one in Hadid's inner circle directly told Gigi to dump Malik. However, everyone in the family made her feel that they don't like the singer.
Yolanda Hadid, reportedly, felt "relieved" when the two broke up in 2018. The model, however, doesn't seem to move on from Zayn Malik and she continued to be drawn into the "Let Me" singer. When they split in 2018, Gigi dated Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron but the two got back together in December 2019.
Gossip Cop, however, downplayed the rumor that Mrs. Hadid wasn't completely in favor of Gigi's relationship with Malik. That seemed to have changed now that she is about to be a grandmother.
In fact, Yolanda was the one who first confirmed that Gigi and Zayn are expecting their first child together. In an interview with Dutch broadcasting station RTL Boulevard, Yolanda said she is excited to become "oma" in September. She added that they feel very blessed to have a new member of the family.
Reports, also, have it that Yolanda now considered Malik as "one of her own." Page Six, also, reported that Malik bought a farmhouse near the Hadid's estate in Pennsylvania on the advice of his future mother-in-law.
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are, currently, spending quarantine together while waiting for the arrival of their new bundle of joy in September. Hadid earlier showed off for the first time her baby bump and their fans can't wait to see more photos of the pregnant supermodel along with the ex 1D member and their baby.
