It's no secret that Disney is determined to bring back most of its classic movies. After the success of live-action reboots of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, the House of Mouse is now planning to introduce a new version of another beloved animated film. It has just been confirmed that there will be a remake of Bambi in the future. However, fans are not pleased with the idea of bringing back the story of a young deer and his friends.

The news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, which confirmed that Disney is already developing the Bambi live-action remake. The project already has enlisted Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider), and Lindsey Beer (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, Chaos Walking) to work on the screenplay for the movie. In addition to that, the film will be produced by Depth of Field. However, the reboot has not yet been given an official production start or release date.

The details about the Bambi live-action remake have not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that it will be made in a similar way as Jon Favreau's previous Disney films The Jungle Book and The Lion King. This means that the new adaptation will involve "envelope-pushing CG technology to create ground-breaking photo-realistic and immersive worlds of nature."

There is little doubt that Disney has big hopes for Bambi. After all, both The Jungle Book and The Lion King were huge blockbusters for the studio. Unfortunately, it looks like fans are not happy with the idea of rebooting the 1942 animated classic. Interestingly, people have a very particular reason why they don't want to see a remake of the movie.

Most fans have pointed out that the new film will undoubtedly mean that millions of children (and adults) will have to go through the trauma of Bambi's mother's death. Some stated that although the original movie didn't show how the hunter shot Bambi's mom, there is a huge possibility that it will be shown in the remake. Several netizens were much concerned that the death could be made even worse in the reboot by adding blood and gore to the scene.

The original film was based on the 1923 book Bambi, a Life in the Woods that was written by author Felix Salten. The movie itself followed the life of Bambi and his friends, a rabbit named Thumper and a skunk named Flower.
