Andre Drummond found himself with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the NBA trade deadline, a move that did not sit well with the 26-year-old center. He was pretty much comfortable with the Detroit Pistons, but his previous team just had different plans moving ahead.

Without a doubt, the Cavs caught a big fish in Drummond. Together with Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, Cleveland has a formidable frontline that could work out if general manager Koby Altman finds a way to keep them all this summer. But unless the Cavs find a way to make all three players happy, seeing that happen may take a miracle.

With regards to Drummond, he said that the situation his current team is in right now is worse than what he experienced with the Pistons. He stressed that this will factor into his decision in the offseason - that of which is to either pick up his player option or test NBA free agency, The Athletic reported.

Aside from that, there is John Beilein. Drummond vowed he would leave by the summer if the former Michigan Wolverines coach was still at the helm. The 9th overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft denied saying anything to the like not long after. Regardless, that all becomes irrelevant now. The Cavs parted ways with Beilein and named JB Bickerstaff as their new head coach. Now, it will be interesting if Bickerstaff can strike a tune to convince the 6-foot-11 big man to consider staying in Cleveland.

Drummond can exercise the player option of his contract, which would pay him $28.8 million for the 2020-21 NBA season. Most feel that he will pass up on that and test NBA free agency instead. Regardless, Altman made it known that he would love to keep Drummond long term. The likely outcome may depend on how the Cavs end their current NBA campaign as well as the team's composition moving forward.

Love and Thompson are two veterans who have a murky outlook. Love admits that he expected to be traded earlier this month, but nothing went down. He expects something to happen in the summer unless the Cavs mend ties.

Thompson, on the other hand, is in the final year of his contract with the Cavs. He is expected to test the free-agent market as well and made it clear that he does not intend to accept offers less than what he makes.
