Meghan Markle and Prince Harry no longer have protection officers from Scotland Yard or the U.K. Metropolitan Police. Since moving to Los Angeles in March and giving up their royal life, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly taken the services of privately-hired bodyguards who used to work for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

According to Daily Mail, Prince Harry and Meghan have former SAS soldiers as their security officers in California. The Sussexes apparently made their choice from a shortlist of security firms that Hollywood A-listers like Jolie and Pitt, Madonna and Nicole Kidman also use.

Prince Harry and Meghan are going to shoulder half of the cost of their security detail in the United States. Prince Charles will pay for the other half, which apparently amounts to a total of over $4 million every year.

Prince Charles will use his private income from the Duchy of Cornwall to support his second son's family. However, a spokesperson for the Prince of Wales said that this fund to help out Prince Harry and Meghan is not "inexhaustible" thus the Sussexes will eventually have to shoulder their lifestyle.

The arrangement of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be reviewed by the royal family 12 months after they step back from their royal roles. Prince Harry and Meghan plan to start earning their private income as well and will likely field jobs and opportunities in Hollywood to fund their future ventures.

This week, Prince Harry and Meghan ended their working royal stint by thanking their followers on Instagram. The Sussexes will be giving up their royal brand in favor of a new name and a new project, instead of Sussex Royal.

Source said that the couple moved from Vancouver to Los Angeles since their plan to work in Canada wasn't feasible. In California, Meghan can tap on her resources and connections as a former Hollywood actress.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be announcing their latest projects soon. However, a source said that Prince Harry and Meghan's immediate focus is their family as they want to savor their time with their growing son, who will turn a year old on May 6.

It's unclear what first birthday plans Prince Harry and Meghan have drawn up for Archie. Earlier, reports also stated that the Sussexes might spend the summer with Queen Elizabeth in Balmoral so that Archie can be with his grandmother.
