The coronavirus continues to keep everyone at home as the virus continues to spread. Most are left with no recourse but to find something to keep them occupied such as games. One game that most may least expect to enjoy is "Pokemon Go." Most know how a trainer needs to be on the move to enjoy its perks but Niantic has made a couple of tweaks so that augmented reality players can still enjoy it even while at home.

Niantic has lined up a special event every Tuesday under their "Pokemon Go" May Spotlight hours. The events start at 6:00 p.m. local time where players get the chance to capture some special Pokemon plus bonuses. The first one is due on May 5 where gamers can try and catch Shelder. Other than that, participants will get the chance to earn twice as much Stardust for catching the Pokemon, Pokemon Go Live reported.

On May 12, "Pokemon Go" players will try to snag Sunkern. There will also be a bonus in the form of XP this time around. Players can earn twice as much when they try to catch this pocket monster. On May 19, it will be Poochyena up with players getting the chance to earn twice the number of Candy for their efforts. The May Spotlight Hours wrap up on May 26 with Bronzor. Players can earn the same doubled amount of candy only that this can be only achieved by transferring the Pokemon. These are the planned events for May by Niantic but could be changed.

The weekly events should keep "Pokemon Go" players busy. This is aside from the Throwback 2020: Kanto and research rewards. This special event had previously leaked to some players. Niantic had already announced that players who are playing can do so now but will no longer be included once the actual event officially gets underway.

Other than that, Niantic has increased the number of spawns in select regions and made the necessary adjustments to make sure that folks confined to their homes can still enjoy "Pokemon Go." Most know that the game normally requires one to go out and explore. But given the coronavirus situation, that would make it impossible for most to travel like head to the nearest Pokemon gym.

Niantic is doing its share of keeping most occupied with the necessary tweaks. It remains to be seen what other brainchild developers will think of as they try to keep locals happy by offering special events and items through events.
