Like any other pregnant woman, Katy Perry has crazy mood swings too. But to make things worse for her, this is all happening at the time that everyone should stay at home because of coronavirus.

Perry admitted that she is experiencing waves of depression lately because of everything that is happening around. The "Firework" singer is excited about her and fiancé Orlando Bloom's upcoming bundle of joy but she is also struggling to cope with her emotions during the quarantine.

"Sometimes I don't know what's worse trying to avoid the virus or the waves of depression that come with this new norm," Katy shared in her latest tweet

It is not the first time Perry opened up about her prenatal depression. During the SHEIN Together livestream festival recently, the "Roar" hitmaker revealed that she has days when she just cries. It could be while looking down on her swollen toes or doing simple tasks. Katy acknowledged that it could also be just hormonal and all part of pregnant women struggles.

Perry confessed that she is a very active individual. She is used to going around all the time and not being confined in one space for so long. Last month, the "Teenage Dream" singer revealed that she has been staying home with some family members.

The American Idol judge added that she also needs some alone time but in the current situation, she finds it hard to have a place where she can be on her own. Perry said at the moment, her "me time" sanctuary is in her car.

Fortunately, Katy finds ways to smile and laugh during this uncertain time. Over the weekend, she wore an elephant costume and participated as Mrs. Dumbo in ABC's Disney Family Singalong: Volume II. The singer said the experience made her happy.

Katy Perry revealed in early March that she and Bloom are expecting their first child together. The big reveal happened when she released the music video for her new single "Never Worn White", off from her upcoming fifth studio album.

At the end of the MV, the 35-year-old singer was seen holding her baby bump. Following the release of the MV, Katy went on Instagram Live to confirm her pregnancy.

Perry and Orlando started dating in early 2016. The couple got engaged on February 14, 2019. Bloom has a nine-year-old son from his previous marriage to model Miranda Kerr.

Earlier this year, Katy also opened up with Vogue India about her mental health struggles in the past. The "California Gurls" singer revealed that she hit rock bottom from 2017 to 2018. She said Bloom has been part of her mental health journey and described the Pirates of the Caribbean actor as the "anchor who holds me down."
