After much anticipation from VIPs, BIGBANG's much-anticipated comeback performance at the 2020 Coachella Festival has finally been canceled.

This comes after news that the annual music festival has been canceled by organizers altogether. It can be recalled that Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), the host of this year's Coachella made the confirmation, All Kpop reported.

It can be recalled that early this year, Coachella 2020 released promotional material that BIGBANG will be one of the featured performers for this year's music festival. The original date of the music fest was for April but Coronavirus concerns in the US and the rest of the world resulted in the postponement of the concert to October.

However, as the US continues to reel from the global pandemic, organizers opted to pull out this year's Coachella Festival and focus their plans for next year, with a limited capacity. The organizers are, reportedly, eyeing April for 2021 Coachella but it is unsure whether BIGBANG will be invited to join again.

The news disappointed Kpop fans all over the world who were expecting an epic comeback from BIGBANG. It can be recalled that four of its members - G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P and Daesung completed their mandatory enlistment last year but they have not performed together since 2017.

While G-Dragon has been active in the fashion scene, the rest of the members have been lying low in terms of releasing new music.

It was earlier reported that YG and BLACKPINK were originally slated to make a comeback in the first quarter but these plans were delayed by COVID-19 concerns.YG has already announced a three-part comeback for BLACKPINK this year while BIGBANG's comeback is expected to happen within the second hand of the year.

While there is no concrete news about BIGBANG's comeback, VIPs take comfort in the knowledge that all of the remaining members have renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment. After leaving BIGBANG because of the Burning Sun Scandal, Seungri is currently serving in the military.

In March this year, G-Dragon, T.O.P., Taeyang, and Daesung all renewed their contracts with YG, immediately resulting in a boost in stock prices.

Amid a series of scandals and controversies last year, it can be recalled that stock prices plummeted to its lowest. Many of YG's artists also left the agency.

In their statement, YG committed to supporting BIGBANG's activities as the label's representative group. They also said that they will push forward in making Kpop history with the continuous activities of G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung.
