Prince Charles will be the first member of the royal family to step out for a public engagement, ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Prince of Wales will be saluting hero soldiers in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of St. Valery in Scotland.

According to Daily Express, Prince Charles, who is regarded as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, will be joining the Royal British Legion for this occasion. This event marks the accomplishments of the 51st Highland Division during the World War II.

Prince Charles said that pipers across Scotland will be playing a tune at 10:00 a.m. on June 12 to mark the 80th anniversary. He urged other pipers -- skilled or still learning -- to also join the tribute for the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for Scotland during the Second World War.

According to the Forres-Gazettea series of events have been planned with the Poppyscotland, Legion Scotland, and RCET- Scotland's Armed Forces Children's Charity to remember the fallen soliders. The piper ceremony will be aired over television, while there will be a screening of The Beaches of St Valéry and a tribute concert in the evening.

It's unclear, however, if the Duke of Rothesay will stick around for the event line up. It was also not announced if his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will be joining him for the public event.

It comes as Prince Charles' son and daughter-in-law, Prince William and Kate, have been eager to restart their public engagements as the U.K. is slowly easing its lockdown measures against the coronavirus. For the last three months, the royal family has been working with their charities virtually.

Reports show, however, that the calendar for the royal family has no public engagement marked for the next few months. But the younger royals, like Prince William and Kate, have been finding ways on how to proceed with physical engagement, while still observing social distancing guidelines.

Prior to the lockdown orders, Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate had to observe a no-handshaking policy as the virus transmission became more pronounced. They were also asked to use hand sanitizers after meeting with a crowd.

However, in light of what the world now knows about the coronavirus, Prince William and Kate might need to wear masks once they step out in public. They might also have to consider the safety of the people working for them. Social distancing might be a challenge to implement, with an entourage always following them around.
