Netflix recently dropped the trailer of Lucifer season 5 and it introduces a new character, Michael, who happened to be the titular character's twin brother. This is a huge twist in the upcoming installment and it's exciting to see how he could stir things up.

The latest trailer of Lucifer season 5 reveals that Tome Ellis will be playing two different characters. While he'll still be playing the titular character who loved by many, he will also play Michael this time around. He is Lucifer Morningstar's twin brother who arrives on Earth to cause some troubles.

Initially, it was believed that the titular character returns to Earth after resuming his role as King of the Underworld for a while. But when he comes back, he's not the same as he once before. The trailer later revealed it's not because Lucifer has changed -- but because it is Michael who's on Earth now.

The biggest concern in Lucifer season 5 is Chloe. It looks like she'll become romantic with Michael, as she's completely unaware that this person isn't the Lucifer that she loves. He could likely use her as an advantage to get whatever he wants. Hopefully, Chloe will realize the truth before things get even more complicated.

It's yet to be seen what Michael really wants, but it's apparent he wanted to destroy the life Lucifer has built on Earth. The good thing is that the titular character won't be out for too long. As shown in the trailer, there is an intense battle coming between the twin brothers.

The main question in Lucifer season 5 is what exactly are Michael's motives? At the moment, there's no answer to that question. But it's clear that he will cause a lot of troubles and chaos on Earth, as well as in the lives of those who knew Lucifer.

When the new season arrives, we'll also see Michael's wings -- which were completely different from his twin brother's. The show's official Twitter account shared a clip featuring his wings, with the color being entirely different. We also see Michael's stance and demeanor are very much different.

The first half of Lucifer season 5 premieres on Friday, Aug. 21, on Netflix. Since it was expanded from 10 episodes to 16, the new season will be released in two batches. Originally, the upcoming installment was billed as the series finale. But after some time, the streaming platform renewed the show for a sixth and final installment.
