Beyonce is about to drop her highly-anticipated Black Is King visual album. Here are the things to know before the premiere of Queen Bey's star-studded project.

The film was inspired by The Lion King: The Gift, the official soundtrack of the live-action version of The Lion King. Beyonce voiced Nala in the movie. The visual album was written, directed, and executive produced by the 24-time Grammy winner herself.

Black Is King celebrates Black excellence and culture. It will showcase the voyages of Black families, throughout time and tell the story of a young king's journey through betrayal, love, and self-identity.

The "Lemonade" hitmaker believed that the events of 2020 have made her film's vision and message even more relevant. Beyonce added that she incorporated Black history and African tradition in the film and gave it a modern twist to define what it truly means to find self-identity and build a legacy.

Beyonce and JAY-Z's eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter, will also be featured in the movie. The eight-year-old cutie was seen in the recently-released trailer of her mother's latest project.

In the one minute and 28 seconds teaser that Bey shared on Instagram, Blue Ivy was seen dressed in an elegant off-the-shoulder dress. Her princess attire was paired with a pearl-strand necklace and gold tiara.

Aside from Blue Ivy, the star-studded visual album also reportedly features appearances by JAY-Z, Lupita Nyong'o, Kelly Rowland, Pharrell Williams, Naomi Campbell, Beyonce's mom Tina Knowles Lawson and more. Beyonce, also, dropped a music video for the song "Already," ahead of the album's premiere. It featured Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale and EDM trio Major Lazer.

Black Is King will run for 85 minutes. It will have songs, skits, and interpretive dance, with camera crew traveling to the U.S., London, Belgium, South Africa, and West Africa to capture the actors and choreography.

The visual album also includes Beyonce's single "Black Parade," an extended version of it, and a remix of "Find Your Way Back" featuring Melo-X. It will, also, have full-length videos for the songs "Already," "Brown Skin Girl," "Mood 4 Eva" and "My Power," which were all featured on The Lion King: The Gift OST album.

The "Run World" singer's new film will premiere worldwide on July 31, a year after The Lion King remake was released in theaters. Beyonce's film could be streamed exclusively on Disney Plus.

Existing Disney Plus subscribers will be able to watch Black Is King for free online. New users, on the other hand, can sign up for Disney Plus for just $6.99 a month.
