Microsoft Reportedly Announcing Xbox Series S Details This Month
The much-awaited reveal of the more affordable next-gen console from Microsoft dubbed as the Xbox Series S is reportedly happening this month. The light version of the premium Xbox Series X is one of the heavily leaked consoles lately. While Microsoft remains mum about the rumored console, it looks like it is poised to reveal details about it this August.
Xbox Series S Details Announcement
The latest information about the Xbox Series S or Lockhart came from Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb. On his official Twitter account, Grubb said that fans could expect to hear more about the more affordable next-gen console from Microsoft within three weeks. This places the date sometime in the last week of August.
There is a high possibility that Microsoft might announce the Xbox Series Sat the Gamescom Opening Night Live if Grubb's information is to go by. The event is set on August 27, kicking off the virtual event this year. It is worth mentioning that the Xbox Series S or Lockhart has been the center of a lot of leaks and rumors these past months.
Xbox Boss Phil Spencer earlier mentioned that all questions related to Xbox Series X would be answered this month. Many fans believe that Microsoft is preparing to launch the Xbox Series S, especially with the recent leak mentioning the name Xbox Series S.
New Leaked Images
Earlier, a new set of leaked images surfaced online, revealing a white Xbox Series X controller, including its packaging. Reliable industry insider with the Twitter handle Wario64 shared the images he got from TinyRakan. Apart from this, The Verge also reported similar information from another industry insider showing the same details.
The leaked images suggest that Microsoft could be working on another color option for the Xbox Series X hardware and controller. Others, however, believe that it is more than just the color. On the leaked Xbox Series X controller's packaging, it is written that the controller is compatible with Xbox One, Windows 10, Mobile, and Xbox Series X/S.
Xbox Series X Release Date
Microsoft has no idea where the images came from but assured fans that more questions would be answered this month. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X is set to arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020. Although the company has not yet revealed the console's specific release date, Microsoft CFO Amy hood previously said that it would be available in November.
