Ellen DeGeneres' former girlfriend, Anne Heche, showed her support to the 62-year-old host amid the controversy she's going through due to The Ellen DeGeneres Show's alleged toxic work environment. Although the former couple hadn't talked to each other, the 51-year-old actress didn't hesitate to defend her ex.

The Another World star broke her silence over the accusations that DeGeneres had a "mean behavior." There were, also, allegations that "sexual misconduct, racism, and bullying" were happening behind the scenes of the long-running talk show.

Anyhow, Portia de Rossi's wife was never linked to these workplace allegations.

In an interview with Mr. Warburton Magazine, Heche admitted she hadn't spoken to DeGeneres in years. So, she listened to the people who were close to the veteran comedian. She said her ex was standing where she walked, and it was her decision to continue that journey.

Heche was best known in the movies Donnie BrascoVolcano, and the Psyco remake. Her relationship with DeGeneres happened between the years of 1997 and 2000, Independent noted.

They made their romance public after DeGeneres publicly came out as gay, making their relationship a high profile one. Sadly, it also resulted in a massive backlash in their career.

People's reception to them made a significant effect on her time in the business. There was even a moment that she was told not to bring DeGeneres to the premiere of Volcano in 1997, or she might lose her contract with Fox.

She, too, almost lost his role in the 1998 movie Six Days Seven Nights opposite Harrison Ford. Thankfully, the Star Wars actor publicly supported her that made her able to continue doing the film.

Despite what happened, Heche revealed she had no regrets about being with DeGeneres. She considered their time together as a "beautiful part" of her life, which she would wear with honor.

She was, also, proud to be a "part of the revolution" that created "social change." Heche admitted she couldn't do these things if she didn't fall in love with DeGeneres.

According to Today, Heche ended up marrying Coley Laffoon in 2001. After a year, they were blessed with a child, named Homer. In 2009, they opted for a divorce.

She, then, had a relationship with her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper. They, also, had a son named Atlas, but they eventually parted ways in 2018.

DeGeneres, alternatively, started dating DeRossi in 2004. They, then, tied the knot in 2008.
