In case you missed it, several reports have declared that the next James Bond has already been cast. People were in a frenzy when several outlets announced that Venom star Tom Hardy will be taking over the role of 007 when Daniel Craig retires from the franchise.

However, that hasn't stopped other stars from campaigning for the coveted role. Henry Cavill has just admitted he is still interested in playing the MI6 agent after No Time To Die.

It was previously reported that Tom Hardy has already been cast as the titular spy in the James Bond franchise. Interestingly, the reports stated that the Venom star had already signed on to play 007 ahead of the premiere of No Time To Die, which will serve as Daniel Craig's final film in the franchise.

However, it was also suggested that the producers are waiting until November to make an official announcement to make sure that people will be hyped up for James Bond 25.

It's important to point out that the casting is not yet official which means that the franchise could still choose a different actor to take on the role. So, why not Henry Cavill? Interestingly, the Justice League star has expressed his interest in playing James Bond in the future.

Henry Cavill was recently interviewed by British GQ where it was pointed out that he has originally auditioned for the role of James Bond when he was only 22 years old. It has been a long time since then and the Witcher star is now closer to 007's intended age.

When asked if he would want to play James Bond after Daniel Craig, Henry Cavill didn't shy away from expressing his interest. He did, however, point out that the decision is still up to producer Barbara Broccoli and co-producer Michael G. Wilson.

"If Barbara and Mike were interested in that, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity," Cavill said. "At this stage, it's all up in the air. We'll see what happens. But yes, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting."

The idea of Henry Cavill being the next James Bond is a welcome one for fans considering that he has already proven his versatility. After all, he plays Superman in the DC Extended Universe, Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher and most recently, Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes. For now, it's unclear if Cavill will be cast for the role but stay tuned for more updates on this story.
