Max Ehrich consistently claimed he only knew his engagement with Demi Lovato was already off through tabloid. However, multiples sources revealed the 28-year-old pop star, who ended their romance, told the actor about it before it slipped to the press.

In a series of posts on Instagram stories, the 29-year-old actor shared how he learned Lovato had called off their engagement in real-time. He was on the set of his new movieSouthern Gospel, with the crew and other cast members right next to him, E! News noted.

They were literally watching him open his phone when he also opened the tabloid. Ehrich swore to God that it was how he found out the "ending of their engagement." As his workmates saw how the whole thing went down after he knew of the matter, they helped him get back into his character to continue filming.

The dancer continued there were cast and crew with families relying on him to do his job. So, he wanted to end the negative stories about them and asked everyone to focus on more pressing issues around the world today.

Ehrich, then, said he loved and forgave everyone involved in the issue and just let them be and heal after what happened.

On the contrary, a source told People Lovato told her ex-fiance that their relationship had come to an end before the news broke. The insider explained the former Disney star made The Young and the Restless actor aware of her decision.

They had even decided that they would go on their separate ways to focus on their respective careers. Despite having a short-lived romance, the tipster added that it was a tough choice for the two.

Although rumors continuously plague their separation, the source continued they have "respect and love" for each other. They will also continue to cherish the time that they spent together.

A separate source revealed the former couple started to have relationship problems in the past few weeks after returning to work following their coronavirus quarantine time together in Los Angeles. Currently, Lovato remains in L.A., while Ehrich has to move to Atlanta to continue his new film production.

They seemed to be used being together 24/7 for months. The insider explained they lived in a "bubble" without any stress at the time, and everything was just fun.

Now, they are both back to work and on "separate coasts." A different tipster added, ever since Ehrich's romance went public, he dramatically "shot up in fame" and it had been hard for him. Sadly, he got "wrapped up in Hollywood."
