Barack Obama spoke against Donald Trump's actions toward the pandemic crisis in the United States. Following his show of support toward the incumbent American leader's rival, he launched scathing attacks at Florida International University.

The former U.S. President said that the rest of the American public have to suffer and "live with the consequences" due to the actions of his successor in the Oval Office. He added that Trump is not going to protect everyone all of sudden considering that the country continues to suffer from the COVID-19 crisis eight months after its inception. He continued that Trump could not even shield himself from the virus by taking precautionary measures, according to People.

Barack Obama's statements seemingly referenced Donald Trump's COVID-19 diagnosis earlier this month. The U.S. President, along with his wife and his youngest son, tested positive for the coronavirus, after his top aide Hope Hicks contracted the virus.

NPR reported the timeline of the incumbent leader's activities days before his and Hicks' infection. Unlike Melania and Barron, who remained inside the executive residence of the White House, Walter Reed Medical Center admitted Donald Trump hours after his results came back.

While the First Lady and his son continued to observe their 14-day quarantine, the patriarch of the Trump family immediately returned to the Oval Office after he got out of the hospital.

Barack Obama's speech, later on, featured his attacks toward Donald Trump's lack of responsibility amid the pandemic. He said that the U.S. President does not have any plan to fight the virus, adding that he does not take responsibility for any of it.

He, also, explained before his audience that Trump would not come up with a new plan in the next few months. The former leader noted that it would not make sense, arguing that he has not come up with anything in the last eight months.

Since the early months of the COVID-19 crisis, many individuals have continued to accuse the U.S. President of downplaying the virus. To date, this reception has remained apparent, especially that the ultimate battle between Trump and Biden fastly approaches.

But, despite Barack Obama and the public's views, the incumbent leader denied the notion of him downplaying the severity of the pandemic, according to BBC. In a town hall meeting in Philadelphia earlier in September, Donald Trump countered that he "up-played it" in many ways. He added that his action was "very strong" to the point that he, reportedly, avoided the further spread of the virus.
