Camilla Parker-Bowles is receiving a deluge of abuse online from internet trolls this week after The Crown season 4's release on Netflix. Apparently, some royal fans are taking the fictionalized storylines as the truth and have been condemning the Duchess of Cornwall as the other woman.

Commenters have apparently been storming the Royal Family Instagram profile, where there's a recent photo of the Duchess of Cornwall. According to Daily Mail, some royal fans posted tributes in honor of Princess Diana on Camilla's images while others directed their posts to spew hate comments against Prince Charles' second wife.

One commenter accused Camilla of torturing Princess Diana. Another said that Camilla profited off the heartbreak of Prince Charles' first wife. According to The Sun, the comments on the Instagram entry reached over 4,000 with mostly coming from Diana fans.

On Twitter, viewers of The Crown were shocked to learn that Camilla and Prince Charles kept on with their affair since the wedding of the Prince of Wales to Princess Diana, as it was depicted in the series. Some viewers learned about Diana's eating disorder.

However, royal expert Brittani Barger said that it might be time to end this narrative that paints Camilla as the other woman. Barger wrote in Royal Central that Camilla is not the villain in this love triangle.

Not many might remember that Prince Charles wanted to marry her before he even met Princess Diana. However, it was the royal family who doomed their relationship when they interfered and orchestrated a plan to separate the pair.

Since becoming Prince Charles' legal wife 15 years ago, the royal expert said that Camilla has dedicated her life and service to the Firm. While many will not condone their extra-marital relationship, Prince Charles and Camilla didn't rekindle their relationship until 1986 or five years into his marriage to Princess Diana. It goes against The Crownstoryline that the affair was there from the start.

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith also defended Camilla and Charles, saying that The Crown establishes a notion that is "dishonest and damaging" to the royal family. Royal editor Ingrid Seward said that the show is very one-sided, skewing towards Diana's version of the events when it's not the complete story.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, the person likely least bothered about the show would be Camilla herself. She told Vanity Fair that Camilla has a great sense of humor about her and will likely watch how The Crown plays her out with a glass of red wine on one hand. Nicholl said that Camilla would never fuss about how she's depicted in a fictional TV show.
