Meghan Markle joined the British Royal Family after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. Two years later, though, she exited her post as a working royal, alongside Prince Harry.

Speaking to the Daily Express, a royal expert and author explained the possible reasons behind the Duchess's bombshell move. As speculated, she did not likely understand the "restraints" of being a member of the Firm.

Penny Junor said that the former actress probably realized that she could not be "as active as she wanted to be." She might have, reportedly, thought that the royal institution is not that powerful enough for her to "drive change."

The expert added that the British Royals do not operate in this manner. As opposed to the Duchess of Sussex's possible notion, the royal family does not use their position to make changes.

The assertions come after the recollection of Meghan Markle's statements before officially becoming a part of the British Royal Family. The same publication recalled that the then-actress opened up about her excitement over using the "newfound platform" to drive and create change back in 2017.

In an interview with BBC, the host asked the Duchess of Sussex about her plans and hopes when she becomes a working royal. She responded that she could focus even more energy on" the causes and advocacies close to her heart.

She even shared that her humanitarian works became a way for her and Prince Harry to bond further during their first meeting in London. As it happened, her involvement in it was "one of the things" that caused the connection.

Good Morning America previously released a report about Meghan Markle's advocacies through the years. Based on the discoveries, the former actress began her efforts toward fighting for women's equality when she was 11-years-old.

She wrote a series of letters after witnessing an "offensive" dish soap commercial. The same outlet emphasized that it was Thomas Markle who encouraged her to pen the notes. Nevertheless, she, also, credited Doria Ragland for ensuring her knowledge about the truths behind growing up in Los Angeles.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first met on a blind date in 2016. A "mutual friend" introduced them to each other but, the couple never confirmed the identity of this person responsible for their first meeting.

According to Town & Country magazine, the former actress did not have any "preconceived notions" about the royal-born Prince, according to Town & Country magazine. She explained, however, that she is from the United States, adding that she did not grow up having a clear understanding of the British Royal Family.
