EXO's D.O. completed his mandatory enlistment and was discharged from the military.

According to a report by All Kpop, D.O. or Do Kyungsoo will no longer have to return to the base after his final vacation. He served in the military for 18 months.

During his tenure in the military, D.O. was able to use his cooking skills as a food handler in the Army. He also got to perform in a musical production for a military event.

To celebrate his return, SM Entertainment announced that they would be making available a customized "Welcome Back Set," which will include a dog tag style necklace that bears D.O's initials, along with a keyring. The keyring can be attached to the necklace as a charm or used separately from the necklace. The special set will become available on Jan. 25, the same day as D.O's discharge date. Fans can purchase the item from SMTOWN's physical and online store, Kpopstarz reported.

Meanwhile, it is expected that D.O. will jump right into work after his discharge. It was confirmed last year that he will star in the film The Moon along with veteran actor Sol Kyung Gyu. The film will reunite Kyungsoo with Along with the Gods director Kim Yong Hwa. The Moon is scheduled to start filming in the first half of 2021.

The news of D.O.'s upcoming project came as welcome news to fans who have been counting the days of D.O.'s return since he enlisted in July 2019. Fans even came out with a special D.O. calendar to tick off each day before the singer-actor's discharge, Koreaboo reported.

Upon his return, fans are clamoring for a solo album from the EXO member. Using the hashtag #PrinceKyunsooReturns, fans asked SM Entertainment to to plan a full album for their precious Kyungsoo, Manila Bulletin reported.

It can be recalled that before enlisting, D.O. released a solo track called "It's Okay," which was well-received by EXO-Ls and his supporters.

Last year, three EXO members released solo albums, including group leader Suho, Baekhyun, and Kai. Fans believe that with D.O.'s vocal prowess and charisma, he will be able to carry off a solo debut. They cited his success in his acting career and expressed confidence that the EXO member will do well as a soloist too.
