The members of BLACKPINK have appeared to place their focus on their respective careers. Following the success of their virtual concert earlier this year, the four K-Pop idols have continued to work on their own projects.

For Rosé, she concentrated on her debut solo album, R, which dropped on Friday. It houses two tracks, "On The Ground" and "Gone," which are both in full English language.

During her press release, the K-Pop idol talked about her solo album, including the reason why she chose to have the entire collection in EnglishKoreaboo said that the BLACKPINK vocalist seemingly clarified the matter at hand after many fans wondered about it.

Rosé said that every song "has a language that suits it best," adding that she "debated a lot" about what would suit her title track. She noted, as well, that she had worries from the beginning as this move might disappoint her fans.

However, Rosé felt that "it was important to present" her album with a completed song. For her, having the lyrics in English satisfied her as it provided a "high level of completeness."

Despite this, though, several netizens still shared their thoughts about the matter with some even criticizing her for her decision. AllKpop reported that many individuals had debates and discussions on various online communities because a lot of local fans felt "disappointed."

The majority of the netizens explained that they felt Rosé was "thinking about the international listeners" more than the Korean audience. Some, also, pointed out that they thought "On The Ground" would be in Korean considering "Gone" is already in English, causing dismay toward the BLACKPINK member.

As the arguments continued, however, several international BLINKs defended that Rosé was not only thinking of her fans outside South Korea. One netizen even countered that "music is more than a language."

Despite the apparent criticisms toward the BLACKPINK vocalist, it appears that R has become a success. A separate report from AllKpop revealed that the album's title track "has topped iTunes song charts" in 51 countries.

The update came from YG Entertainment a day after Rosé dropped "On The Ground." Aside from topping the said chart, the track, also, reportedly, ranked first on various domestic music charts, like Bugs and Genie, soon after its release on Friday.

Following the release of the album, the BLACKPINK member seemingly has a lot on her plate right now as she prepares for her upcoming solo debut stage performances and interview guestings. On Sunday, she will hold her first performance on SBS's Inkigayo. She will, also, perform on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on March 16.
