Sources close to former U.S. President Donald Trump believe he will run during the 2024 presidential election as his allies tease a potential retaliatory move after the business mogul's indefinite ban on Facebook was upheld.

The Importance Of Trump's Facebook Reinstatement

On Wednesday, an independent oversight board upheld Facebook's ban on Trump's account. Conservatives have since taken the move negatively.

For Trump's allies and close supporters, getting the suspended account back on track will help drive interest for the former American leader's political comeback.

During his 2016 and 2020 runs, Trump made great use of social media and Facebook was among the networks he used to get his message across and determine who is on his side.

With the latest efforts to keep Trump off social media, sources close to Trump believe he is now more likely to run in the next election, with or without the help of social media sites.

Republicans React To Facebook Ban Extension

Republicans have rallied in support of Trump after the Oversight Board's decision.

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said that "it's a sad day for Facebook" as there are now "members of Congress" that are discussing whether or not they should "break up" the social media platform.
