2021 has been an exciting year for Apple fans, with a number of amazing new announcements and a few noteworthy exclusions. According to the current forecast, 2022 will make up for these shortcomings, with the most significant MacBook Air update ever and a new, more robust version of the Apple Watch, among other things.

If reports are to be believed, Apple will have a busy year filled with new technology next year. The main attraction this time is the company's debut AR/VR glasses.

It's evident that the project has got to be Apple's most ambitious in years. The AR/VR glasses are the first of its kind in Apple's long list of products, so it shouldn't be surprising if the futuristic glasses stand out among the rest.

According to previous predictions, Apple will also deliver five new Macs in 2022, including an updated Mac mini, a new entry-level MacBook Pro, a high-end iMac with Apple silicon, a major MacBook Air makeover with the "M2" chip, and a new Mac Pro with Apple silicon.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believes the new entry-level MacBook Pro sticks out among the various rumors surrounding Apple's iMac, MacBook Air, Mac mini, and Mac Pro improvements.

He previously stated that a next-generation entry-level MacBook Pro would have the same M2 processor as the next-generation MacBook Air, with the same number of CPU cores as the M1 chip, up to 10 graphics cores, and improved performance, but this is the first mention of the machine in nearly six months.

The arrival of Apple's latest high-end MacBook Pro models, which have larger displays, no Touch Bar, and more ports, has put the entry-level MacBook Pro in an awkward position in the Mac lineup, leading to speculation that it might be removed from the market and replaced with a high-end version of the MacBook Air, but Gurman's reaffirmation suggests that a new entry-level MacBook Pro is still on the way for 2022.

The new MacBook Pro's specifications are unclear, but there are concerns about how it will bridge the gap between the new M2 MacBook Air and the present high-end MacBook Pro, as well as if features like the Touch Bar will be continued.

Gurman's list of 2022 predictions notably overlooked improvements to the 24-inch iMac and high-end MacBook Pro. Despite the fact that these machines were updated this year, their absence from Gurman's list supports the notion that Apple does not aim to update its Apple silicon Macs on an annual basis.

Apart from the Mac, Gurman anticipates a 5G iPhone SE and improved AirPods Pro earbuds.
