Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Branded As 'Prince And Princess Of Cancellation' Following Spotify Statement

A British journalist recently slammed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for "sticking their beaks" into the issues that Spotify faces today. He accused them of aspiring to become the "Prince & Princess of Cancellation" as they continue to involve themselves in various concerns, according to The International News.

Brendan O'Neill shared his frustrations toward the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in an engagement with Sky News Australia. He stated that the former working royals have always jumped on a "woke bandwagon," adding that "they have always wanted to control how people think."

The expert continued that the pair now see this kind of opportunity through Spotify. This is despite the Sussex Royals not having any podcast or material on the platform.

Express UK reported that several netizens, also, called out Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. On Twitter, some individuals told them to "put their money where their mouths are," given that their ties with Spotify are under scrutiny, as well.

A Twitter user, who reportedly sees himself a "millennial monarchist," shared some of his thoughts with his thousands of followers. He said he wishes the couple would follow their own advice to Spotify to "meet this moment and walk out of the deal."

Other netizens reportedly joined the discussions and echoed the criticisms toward the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The latest negative light on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry comes after they released an official statement through Archewell Foundation, sharing their thoughts on the controversies involving Spotify. Buzzfeed explained that the issue is about the "COVID-19 misinformation" on the platform, causing many artists to pull their materials from the app.

It seemingly began when Neil Young spoke out against Spotify for its continued relationship with Joe Rogan, whose podcast reportedly features "fake information" about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines.

Young noted that Spotify is "spreading" such materials, "potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation."

On January 30, a spokesperson for Archewell, which is Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's foundation, said that they have "worked to address the real-time global misinformation crisis," since the start of the Archewell. As continued, the "rampant mis- and disinformation" have caused harm to millions of individuals across the globe.

The statement, also, reveals that they have begun sharing their concerns to Spotify about the "all too real consequence of COVID-19 misinformation" on the platform since last April.

In the end, they are said to be looking to the service "to meet this moment," adding that they are "committed" to continuing the work together.
