Two new "Dragon Ball" projects are probably coming the fans' way if the claims about it are anything to go by. The first one will reportedly be announced in December 2022, while the other one will feature the involvement of the series creator himself, Akira Toriyama, coming out in 2023.

The news comes from "Dragon Ball" sources, @DBSChronicles and @dbs2019. Chronicles has been known for releasing accurate updates about the franchise, so will fans indeed see a new anime series featuring Goku and the rest of the gang?

Chronicles hits two birds with one stone, revealing a new anime will be out and involving the mangaka himself. However, there are no words yet for what this new anime project will be or what it will cover.

If it's another movie, fans will remain in the dark about what it will feature until the release updates begin. But if it's a TV anime, many expect it to be "Dragon Ball Super" Season 2 and will adapt the manga's recent arcs.

This may explain Toriyama's involvement in the new project and his possible production role.

On the other hand, Dbs2019 seems to confirm that a new anime will be out, and it will not be part of the "Dragon Ball Super" series or based on Toriyama's manga. Hence, it will be entirely different from what fans used to see or expect.

No one knows what this new anime will cover, so the much-awaited anime adaptation of the "Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga" or the "Granolah the Survivor Saga" will be out of the question. There are theories this new anime will serve as a "filler" to round out the "Dragon Ball" series.

Some say it can be a spinoff series and may answer the questions "Dragon Ball Super" left, like Jiren's origins and the man behind the village's destruction. A Hit origin story is also possible, as Cabba's home planet, Planet Sadala, has been mentioned before.

Many also look forward to seeing a spinoff that features Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz. If this happens, it may reveal their time as soldiers in the Frieza Force.

Nappa and Raditz are both fan-favorite characters, despite being villains. This new anime project may cover the three Saiyans' exploits on other planets before their arrival on Earth and may even give a glimpse of their pasts and training.

However, fans should only take these assumptions with a grain of salt and wait for the official announcements about these new "Dragon Ball" projects.
