A chatbot tool with artificial intelligence, similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT, will be released by Chinese internet giant Baidu in March.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used in cutting-edge technologies. The ChatGPT chatbot was built by San Francisco-based OpenAI. A chatbot is a piece of software created to replicate human-like dialogue in response to user input.

Baidu intends to initially integrate the application into its primary search offerings for its debut, Reuters said. The technology behind ChatGPT operates by learning from massive quantities of data how to respond to every user request in a human-like manner, providing the information like a search engine would or using language like a budding novelist.

Microsoft has considered raising its $1 billion investment in San Francisco-based OpenAI. In an effort to take on Alphabet's Google, the corporation has also sought to integrate OpenAI's image-generation software into its Bing search engine.

Sam Altman of Silicon Valley and billionaire Elon Musk established the nonprofit research and development company OpenAI in 2015, and it has since received money from a number of additional sources, including venture capitalist Peter Thiel. In order to accept outside investment, the group established a connected for-profit organization in 2019.

According to OpenAI, their ChatGPT model can mimic dialogue, respond to follow-up queries, acknowledge mistakes, contest false premises, and reject unsuitable requests. It was taught using a machine learning method called Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF).

In the early stages of development, human AI trainers simulated dialogues between a user and an AI assistant for the model. The bot's public testing version makes an effort to comprehend user questions and provides in-depth responses that are written in a conversational fashion to resemble human-authored text.

Real-world uses for a tool like ChatGPT include online content production, customer support, digital marketing, and even code debugging, as some users have discovered. The bot can mimic human speech patterns and can answer a wide variety of topics.

ChatGPT is not without its critics, as is the case with many AI-driven advances. OpenAI has admitted that the tool has the propensity to give "plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers", a problem it believes will be difficult to resolve. AI technology has the potential to reinforce racial, gender, and cultural biases in society.

Google and Amazon.com, two tech giants owned by Alphabet Inc., previously admitted that some of their AI experimentation programs were "ethically dicey" and had restrictions. Humans had to intervene in some companies to repair AI damage.
