With less than a month remaining until the King's coronation, uncertainty continues to surround whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will attend the event. Although the couple confirmed they received an invitation over a month ago, it is still unclear if they will make the journey from California to be present at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn believes that if Prince Harry desires the familial reconciliation he has previously expressed interest in, he has no option but to attend the coronation. Speaking to the Express, Quinn said, "If Harry doesn't come it will never be forgotten. It's the ultimate snub. You're not coming to your father's coronation, the King's coronation. There's no going back from that."

While Quinn acknowledges that there could be valid reasons for the Sussexes' absence, he does not believe these explanations will satisfy the Royal Family. "They might be able to come up with a plausible reason such as they are worried about security or the kids," he stated. "But, however brilliant the PR, there are some things you can never sell and they are not able to sell that."

Quinn also contends that regardless of whether the Sussexes attend the coronation, their ongoing feud with the Royal Family will cast a shadow over the event. "What's supposed to be the focus-the coronation and telling the world that another generation has come along and the Royal Family is still there-is going to be overshadowed by this spat with Harry and Meghan," he claimed.

Since stepping down as senior royals and relocating to California, the Sussexes have had a turbulent relationship with the Royal Family. The couple has made numerous shocking revelations in various media projects, and Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, reportedly led King Charles to evict Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. Given this context, it is understandable that Quinn views the coronation as a crucial test for the family's relationships.
