Ford Starts Taking Orders For 2021 Mustang Mach-E, Confirms Leaked Specs In April

The Ford Mustang muscle car is going all-electric, and this incarnation will roll out as the 2021 Mustang Mach-E, which is now available for ordering by auto lovers in the United States. The order book has been opened for buyers willing to spend $43,895 for Ford's electric vehicle take on the iconic powerful ride.

Take note that the tag is only for a starting price, and the cash damage will certainly increase for buyers looking to experience the Mustang Mach-E at a higher performance level. In making the electrified Ford Mustang available for orders, Ford also confirmed the specs that were leaked out in April and covering all four variants of the vehicle.

The official specifications from Ford are as follow:

•  RWD Extended Range Mach-E: 290hp / 317lb-ft / 216 kW
•  AWD Standard Range Mach-E: 266hp / 428lb-ft / 198 kW​
•  AWD Extended Range Mach-E: 346hp / 428lb-ft / 258 kW​

It is obvious that the 346hp version is the flagship offering and according to Engadget, this model will accelerate from zero to 60mph in just over five seconds. And needless to say, buyers opting for the model will need to pay more for the exhilarating driving experience.

The specs shared above should likewise tell that the Mustang Mach-E will be packed with power and torque that exceeded the earlier expectations. For an initial offering, what Ford promises to unleash with the modernized muscle car should be compelling enough.

"These better-than-estimated performance figures show that our team is squeezing every last bit of performance out of this vehicle so that it not only delivers Mustang style but Mustang soul as well," said the U.S. carmaker in a press release.

As the ordering for the EV is already underway, Ford said those who originally made their reservations on the Mustang Mach-E could simply opt to convert the status, and the system will automatically recognize the change.

Ford dealerships will be accommodating orders for the Mustang Mach-E but Electrek has advised would-be buyers to scan for outlets where the price tag would prove more friendly. For the most part, Ford has allowed dealers to determine the sticker price on any of the new Mustang variants, so it's best to shop around first before making the buy decision.

The report added that there would be dealers who will put a markup on the Mustang Mach-E to a high of $15,000, and there will be some who will stick with Ford's SRP. It's recommended then to make a careful review of dealership offers and exhaust efforts to find the second option.

Ford said the 2021 Mustang Mach-E should be ready for driving around the last quarter of 2020.
