Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, happily joined a small group of women for a drink at a pub near her home in Bagshot Park. The Queen's daughter-in-law has been keeping in touch with these women via video calls during the lockdown and Wednesday's drinks and chats, while observing social distancing, was their first in-person meet up since the isolation rules have been relaxed in the U.K.

According to People, the Countess of Wessex spent some time talking to the members of the Women's Institute about their planned activities and charity efforts in this pandemic crisis. The group has been into sewing masks and scrubs for the healthcare workers a hospital in Frimley Park.

Prince Edward's wife has been a member of this women's group since 2007. Queen Elizabeth is also a Women's Institute member of the local chapter in Sandringham, which she usually visits every January.

The Countess of Wessex's visit also meant that she could speak to the owner of the pub and ask about the safety measures in place for the staff and customers amid the threats of virus contamination. Apart from setting up a no-contact delivery service, the establishment also changed the layout of the tables to encourage social distancing.

For her pub date, Sophie wore a very simple color-blocked ensemble consisting of a maroon knitted pullover paired with a beige mid-skirt. She capped this whole outfit with a beige colored espadrille-style wedges that is also loved by her niece-in-law, Kate Middleton.

The Countess of Wessex has a no-nonsense wardrobe style that makes her stand out from the rest of the royal family. Her fashion choice has the approval of her 17-year-old daughter, Lady Louise, who has been documented borrowing her mother's clothes quite often.

For Christmas 2019, Lady Louise wore her mother's black and white dress with a white crochet cover up. Her mother first wore this for Commonwealth Day 2018 but with a navy blue blazer to complete the look.

For the wedding of Lady Louise's cousins, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, she wore her mother's designer dress from Alaïa. Sophie first wore this dress for the Queen's Birthday in 2016.

Meanwhile, Sophie said in an interview that she hopes her daughter will decide not to become a working royal. Lady Louise has one more year to figure out what she wants to do with her life and it's her mother's wish that she would have a career outside of the palace walls.
