Joe Biden faced Donald Trump in the first of three presidential debates this week. Both camps claim they won. But the event was the "biggest debate mess" in the history of the presidential campaign, according to CNN.

While talk about who won and lost continues, Biden and Trump took their respective thoughts to social media. A day after the engagement, the former vice president "urged" his followers on Twitter to help him "beat Donald Trump."

He said he needed their help to reach his "goal." He asked them to "chip in" and said it was "now or never."

Netizens were quick to respond to his post on Twitter. Although he received positive and encouraging comments from his supporters, many of the Trump fans mocked him in the comment section.

"Trump 2020!," a netizen's post, which has since obtained several likes from fellow supporters. "You are a disgrace," another fired back to Joe Biden as the user used the hashtag, "Biden" at the beginning of the tweet.

"We've had enough with you. 47 years (sic) been a disaster," Taha Vera said, which seemingly echoed Donald Trump's statements about his rival. "I don't think so," Carl Varnadoe added.

While some Trump supporters used words to share their opposition toward Joe Biden, other critics used clips and photos instead. They seemingly intended to ridicule the former Vice President as the materials feature him in what appears to be inappropriate behavior before the public.

The alleged photo shows him kissing a young girl. The user captioned it with a hashtag, "Save our children worldwide." Another netizen uploaded a clip, showing him as he appears to try to give another girl a kiss on the forehead before the press.

There are, also, other edited photos, which netizens use to imply that Biden is "wired," and that Donald Trump had a debate with his rival, alongside a person on the other line of the wire. The tweet has since received a few likes.

On the other hand, many of Joe Biden's supporters expressed their support in the same thread. Several of them revealed that they have already "chipped in" to help him vote the incumbent U.S. President out.

"Joe Biden for President!," Palmer Report chimed in. "Donated today! It wasn't much but it is all we can do to help bring a little more decency back to our White House," Justin Chapin tweeted, alongside a photo featuring campaign materials for the presidential hopeful.
