YouTuber Jake Paul is all set to fight again in April although his opponent has yet to be officially named. However, it appears that there is already a name in mind although the camp of the 23-year-old is keeping it close to their vest.

Paul did target several names although he wanted Conor McGregor. Seeing how the Irishman just lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, “The Notorious” will likely prioritize a rematch with “The Diamond” or perhaps someone in the UFC scene.

The other names are Dillon Danis and Ben Askren. Of the two, Danis could make more sense.

It will be recalled that Paul did that infamous water balloon attack last December. Initially, most took it as a way to get McGregor’s attention since the Irishman and the 27-year-old fighter were close. But if an opponent is already selected, Danis looms as a sensible opponent.

As for Askren, “Funky” did accept the challenge and announced prior that a fight was set for March. However, the retired MMA fighter mentioned that Paul’s camp went radio-silent. For him, this was an indication that the fight was off. But then again, that is subject to change with Askren now mum since that last update.

Regardless of who Paul faces, trainer BJ Flores sees another knockout happening in April. He shared his expectations on the fight when he spoke to Boxingscene.com.

“People aren’t gonna believe how fast Jake’s next opponent gets knocked out. Jake stole the show on the last card and we are thrilled to be working with Triller’s Ryan Kavanagh and his entire team again. Fighting as the co-main to boxing legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones was an incredible experience but this is only the beginning,” Flores said.

Paul’s last win was at the expense of former NBA player Nate Robinson. The YouTuber landed a vicious overhand right in the second round of that fight which knocked Robinson out cold.

Flores could have a case especially if the next opponent does not have boxing experience. Paul was criticized for picking opponents without ring experience. Whether it be Danis or Askren, their boxing skills remain unknown.

McGregor does have a bit of boxing experience but Paul will have to wait until the Irishman figures out his current situation and get back on track. He was set to face Manny Pacquiao instead but that UFC 257 loss has put a heavy damper on that exhibition boxing fight.
