There are lots of mods that fans developed for the social deduction game "Among Us," but most of these give impostors extra power or ability. The Engineer mod, however, is a breath of fresh air, especially for crewmates since it provides them a unique ability to defeat the impostor. For those wondering how to be able to play this mod in "Among Us," this guide could come in handy.

What is the "Among Us" Engineer Mod

The Engineer mod was developed by King for the popular "Among Us" gamer and content creator SSundee. In this mod, one of the crewmates is randomly selected and given the role of an engineer. With this new distinction, the player can set hidden cameras in any part of the map and track each player with just a touch of a button. That's not all, the engineer can transform himself into a spy drone and fly over the map to monitor everything that's happening in the game.

How To Play the "Among Us" Engineer Mod

At the start of the game, the engineer role is assigned to a crewmate randomly. With this new role, the engineer receives new buttons found on the left side of their screen. These buttons include Drone, Cameras, Shock, Complete, and + Camera and correspond to all of the engineer's abilities.

To add hidden cameras in the room, engineers can use the + Camera button. As mentioned above, this gives the engineer the chance to keep track of the things happening in the game. The Shock button allows them to electrocute anyone who comes near them. The Drone button, meanwhile, transforms the engineer into a spy drone.

While in this form, the engineer can auto-complete the tasks, which speeds up the completion process for crewmates. The only downside of this part is that the drone has a cooldown, which applies to its auto-complete function as well. As a spy drone, the engineer can simply zoom in and out to see the entire map.

They can also pass through walls, which could sometimes be a problem since they could get stuck in the middle of it when the ability wears off. But, the engineer can use it to their advantage by glitching into a wall and use their presence in that location to check the cameras until the drone cools down. The "Among Us" Engineer mod can be played just like the classic game. During Emergency Meetings, the Engineer can admit their role to testify against the Impostor.
