The Vigilante mod features a role for crewmates that could be assigned among them randomly. In this mod, one of the players among the crewmates is given the kill button that they can use to protect their fellow crewmates from the impostor. Crewmates are defenseless in the classic game but this mod gives them the chance to fight back or at least defend themselves. In this mod, however, if the crewmates fail to complete their tasks or responsibilities they can lose the game.
How To Install The "Among Us" Vigilante Mod
This mod is available for PC users, unfortunately, this is not available for iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch players. To install this mod, players need to download the Vigilante mod files first. There are various places that they can visit to do this, but the safest place is from Woodi-dev on GitHub. It is worth noting that the role has a different name when they download these files but it is essentially the same.
Before installing the Vigilante mod, players must ensure that the game is updated to its latest version. Also, they should make a copy of their game on the root directory. After that, players should go to their download location and choose Extract all.
When prompted, the extraction location of the copy should be on their game's root directory. To launch the Vigilante mod, players should enter the mod folder they made and click AmongUs.exe. This will launch the game with the Vigilante role available.
How To Play The "Among Us" Vigilante Mod
In this mod, players still enjoy the game like the classic. Crewmates still need to complete their tasks while impostors could still sabotage and kill crewmates. The only difference of this mod is the kill button available for the player assigned with the vigilante role.
With this button, the vigilante has the power to kill anyone close to them just like impostors. But, if they killed a felow crewmate, they will also be killed. Accidentally killing an ally in this mod gives the impostor an advantage since aside from the killed crewmate, the vigilante will also be thrown out of the game. The vigilante is the primiary target of the impostor since they are the only ones who can kill the impostor in the game.
