Queen Elizabeth II's hosting for the NATO leaders earlier this week seemingly appears to be a success. While all the senior members of the royal family greeted and welcomed the attendees, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wasn't able to meet the personalities, including the United States President, Donald Trump.

According to Harper's Bazaar, the U.S. President may have hoped to meet the couple, especially the Duchess of Sussex. However, the family of three was not in London during this period. Even so, the senior royals present at the event included Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, and Duchess Kate.

As royal fans and supporters may recall, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their six-week break from royal duties earlier in November. The couple, including their firstborn son, Archie Harrison, left for the United States just before the Thanksgiving season to celebrate the holiday with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.

The publication further added that this was not the first time that Donald Trump and Meghan Markle were not able to meet each other at an engagement in London.

Back in June, the United States President made a quick visit to the United Kingdom and met several members of the royal family. This also included the duchess' husband, Prince Harry.

At that time, Meghan was on a "maternity leave" since she just gave birth to Archie Harrison a month before. So, it was understandable why she could not attend.

On Prince William's part, he was not able to attend the hosting event at Buckingham Palace because of his Middle East tour. As per previous reports, he was set to visit Oman and Kuwait for the 120th anniversary of the 1899 Treaty of Friendship.

It was asserted, though, that he will be back in London shortly after his trip. On the other hand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the United Kingdom is still unknown.

People noted, however, that since the Thanksgiving holiday has only passed just a few days ago, the Sussex family may still probably in Los Angeles. Not to mention, their original six-week break may even include spending Christmas in the duchess' hometown.

As it happened, it was announced previously that they will not be returning for Christmas to celebrate the holiday with the queen at Sandringham. But, as to where the family will be spending their final days of the year, no one knows yet, except probably Queen Elizabeth II and other senior members of the royal family.
