'Command & Conquer' Remastered Collection Coming Out Soon Together With Source codes

War strategy games could be a great pastime right now, especially for the ones who were around during the "Command & Conquer" era. Some are still playing it thought he graphics are not as advanced compared to the games currently available. However, a new twist could be coming soon with word that a "Command & Conquer" Remastered Collection will be released on June 5.

Electronic Arts (EA) will be releasing a remastered version of "Command & Conquer" as part of its 25th-anniversary celebration next month. The game rose to fame 15 years ago with popular titles originally released by Westwood Studios. Among the memorable ones include "Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun" and "Command & Conquer: Red Alert." EA acquired the franchise in 1998 for $122.5 million.

The 'Command & Conquer' Remastered Collection should be something to watch out for, a game for both the young and old. The game will now feature rebuilt graphics and have support for 4K graphics among others. But gamers, both old and new, are not the only ones who will be benefitting for the remastered edition. The announcement was made on Reddit.

It appears the source codes for the game will also be released, allowing modders and programmers to get a glimpse of how the game was made. Looking beyond that, it would also allow them to do the necessary modifications to maps, art style, and even gameplay. It appears EA is trying the same ploy that Valve is doing for "Half-Life: Alyx" to reel in new ideas for the game.

However, there will be one feature for "Command & Conquer" Remastered that will not be available. One part that made "C&C" a hit with gamers is that it could be played via the network. The remastered version will not have the LAN feature available for now. It seems that the people behind the remastered edition need more time to conduct testing on the network feature.

Regardless, that should be a minor issue for most who have played "Command & Conquer" in the past. Players can still do the missions or embark in skirmishes against the computer. That should suffice for now as gamers try to re-acquaint themselves in the game. One can use the difficulty levels to improve their strategies or even go up against multiple PC controlled enemies. That may be a predictable challenge but should do for now until the multiplayer gameplay is available.
