Prince Philip reportedly feels like a failure because of the family members who have acted out against the royal family. A new book covering the life of the Queen's husband revealed that the Duke of Edinburgh is hugely disappointed in Princes Andrew and Prince Harry.

The book Prince Philip Revealed, from author Ingrid Seward, uncovered that the Duke of Edinburgh grew furious over the scrutiny over his son, Andrew. The Duke of York's friendship and association with the sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, is still making headlines today.

Prince Philip apparently told his son to own up to his punishments as Andrew stepped back from his royal duties. The Duke of York has been avoiding the public since his resignation in November 2019 and he will not likely make appearances in future royal family events.

Seward also said that Prince Philip was upset about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to give up their royal duties for a life of independence. Apparently, this went against everything that the Duke of Edinburgh stood for, as one of the most dutiful members of the British royal family.

Prince Philip was originally included in the Sandringham summit with Harry, the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William in January to discuss the Sussex pair's exit. However, the Queen instead asked the duke's cousin, the Countess Mountbatten, to keep her husband occupied so he would not have to be in the family meeting.

Seward said that Queen Elizabeth has advised her husband, time and again, not to be involved in the troubles of the other members of the royal family as this will only lead to his disappointment. But, Prince Philip is so passionate about his duty and it upsets him to realize that his son and grandson do not share these values.

Years ago, when Harry was still a bachelor, he promised his grandfather that he will take his role as the spare to the heir seriously. According to sources, Prince Philip used to be close to Harry because they are alike in many ways.

Harry's decision to live in Los Angeles made it difficult for Prince Philip to understand his grandson. The Duke of Edinburgh apparently thinks Harry gave up his privileged life in the U.K. to become a "self-centered celebrity" in the U.S.

However, sources also reveal that Prince Philip is regularly in touch with Harry and Meghan, as well as their son, Archie Harrison via video calls. It's because of the duke that the Sussexes are pushing to spend the holidays with the royal family this year.
