Trump Returning To Social Media With His 'Own Platform,' Adviser Says

Donald Trump is considering making a comeback to social media in two to three months, but using his own platform, his former senior adviser said, according to The Independent Monday.

The former U.S. president was banned from Twitter after the Jan. 6 siege on the Capitol. Trump had been a prolific commenter on the social media platform before and during his presidency.

Jason Miller, Trump's spokesperson during the 2020 election campaign, told Fox News on Sunday that Trump would return to the social media space with a new service of his own.

"This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media, it's going to completely redefine the game, and everybody's going to be watching to see what exactly President Trump does," Fox quoted Miller as saying.

Since leaving the White House and returning to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump has kept a low profile. But Miller said the former commander in chief had been hard at work.

"There's been a lot of high-power meetings he's been having at Mar-a-Lago ... there have been numerous companies coming in," Miller told Fox.

Miller estimated that Trump's soon-to-launch social media platform would attract "tens of millions" of users, but did not provide further details at this point, The Independent said.

Trump was banned from his social media accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others, in his final days in office after peddling a 2020 election fraud conspiracy.

On Saturday, Trump released a statement, once again, claiming that the 2020 election was rigged in favor of President Joe Biden.

Despite Trump's actual and certified loss to Biden, he remains a prominent figure in the Republican Party and hasn't ruled out a run for the presidency in 2024.
