American boxer Floyd Mayweather punched his way to the topmost position of Forbes' annual ranking of the world's richest entertainers. Meanwhile, actor George Clooney followed closely on the number two spot.
The news, which came earlier this week, also cited several other new names on the list like Kylie Jenner, who is now reportedly on her way of earning the title as the "youngest self-made US billionaire."
Both Mayweather and Clooney are returnees to the fabled Forbes list. Mayweather, on his part, failed to make it to the cut on the 2017 edition of the list.
According to a Forbes report, the boxing legend's mega-million prize-winning fight versus UFC mixed martial arts champion Conor McGregor catapulted him back for this year's accolade with earnings to total $285 million. The Mayweather-McGregor fight took place on August 2017 in Las Vegas and it earned the 50-0 record holder a whopping $550 million in revenue.
The 41-year-old pro-boxer is currently on hiatus, although fans of the fighter are already hankering for rumors of his comeback to the ring.
Clooney, meanwhile, trails behind the athlete-celebrity with $239 million in total earnings.
The 57-year-old thespian bounced back to the list ever since his last appearance in 2010. And while many would assume his works behind the camera as the reason for his return, it is hardly so.
The two-time Academy Award winner co-founded, along with friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, the tequila company Casamigos in 2013.
The liqueur firm was sold to Diageo, a British multinational beverage company, for $700 million in June 2017 with an extra $300 million if Casamigos retain its sales performance.
Clooney is currently involved in the filming of upcoming miniseries, "Catch-22," a serialized adaptation of Joseph Heller's book of the same name.
The "Ocean's Eleven" star is married to Amal Clooney, a high-profile international law and human rights lawyer.
Jenner, on her part, made the name not only with her part in "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," but also with her entrepreneurial endeavors particularly the Kylie Cosmetics. She danced her way to the list to the tune of $166.5 million - a feat quite impressive for her age.
Other notable names include Judy Sheindlin #4 with $147 million, followed by Hollywood's Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with $124 million.
Rock bands U2 and Coldplay also made their way with $118 million and $115 million, respectively. On the ninth spot is Ed Sheeran who just jumped from the 71st spot in 2017.
Football superstars Lionel Messi (#8) and Cristiano Ronaldo (#10) were also named in the list.
