Huge and famous hotels in China are set to make history with its futuristic hotel rooms, making its guests more comfortable throughout their stay in these futuristic hotels.

The InterContinental Hotels Group, Hangzhou Marriott Hotel and Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay, and the Smart LYZ hotel possess the latest state-of-the-art technology when it comes to futuristic hotel rooms.

InterContinental Hotels Group

This hotel teams-up with Chinese technology company Baidu that specializes in Internet search services and artificial intelligence (AI). Accordingly, the guest rooms in InterContinental Hotel are also dubbed as "smart rooms" in China with its usage of AI support system. This hotel chain has two hotels in the country - the InterContinental Beijing Sanlitun and InterContinental Guangzhou Exhibition Center. These two establishments will have a total of 100 AI-enabled suites this year.

"The AI Smart Room will undoubtedly be extremely attractive for them (millennial travelers), paving the way for a new level of modernization and consumer satisfaction," IHG Greater China Vice President Lin Wang.

Lin added that their AI suites can "fully embrace voice control technology to deliver a more natural human-computer interactive experience."

Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang and Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadongai Bay

These two Marriott hotels introduce its facial recognition technology upon checking-in.

"We are testing in both a city and resort environment to understand how leisure and business guests react to this new check-in process. The expansion will be based on hotel and guest feedback," according to Marriott International's Asia Pacific Region Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Peggy Fang Roe.

This facial-recognition technology is in partnership with Alibaba Group. As of now, this only caters to Chinese travelers. This will gradually expand to other Marriott hotels worldwide.

Smart LYZ

This hotel is ideal for introverts who are not comfortable speaking with people who they do not know. The Smart LYZ is a fully automated hotel wherein you do not have to interact with any human being. This hotel uses the AI technology as developed by a Shenzhen-based company. Because of the success of its first hotel for this high-tech feature, Smart LYZ is planning to add more automated hotels by the end of 2018.

Millennial Travelers

There is a noted increase of millennial travelers among Chinese. According to the 2018 Chinese International Travel Monitor, Chinese millennials are "pushing the boundaries of international travel, increasing their travel expenditure in the past year by 80 percent." Accordingly, their travels are more influenced by social media and are more inclined to high-tech accommodation.
