Britney Spears' former husband, Kevin Federline, will receive another piece of fortune from the pop star. Thanks to a judge who ordered Spears to pay Federline, the latter will get $110,000 in their ongoing child-support case. This involved their two sons namely, Sean Preston and Jayden James, 12 years old and 11 years old, respectively.
According to E! News, Spears is already paying Federline, her husband from 2004 to 2006, under their original child-support agreement. The figure is reportedly $20,000 per month, which is meant for the care of their children. However, Federline sought to have more this year.
He believes that the boys ought to have more financial support from the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer because they have grown older. Federline added that "the financial circumstances of the parties are significantly different than when the child support was originally resolved."
Considering Spears' never-ending success, it is safe to say that she is worth a lot more today than she was when their relationship ended. As per court documents, it appears that Sphas have reported assets of over $56.5 million.
Federline complained that their children, of who he and the titular singer shared custody, have a wildly different life when they are with him. While Spears' income continues to increase, his has spiraled down. He is to be earning around $3,000 per month only.
The former couple tried to work out on a new child-support agreement on their own, Yahoo! reports. Federline, however, officially filed court documents to formally seek the increase in May. Spears, on the other hand, argued that she is paying more than enough of their sons' expenses. This includes, but not limited, to clothing, private school tutors, and extracurricular activities.
A judge ordered the singer to make the hefty payment in court. The money is believed to be for her ex-husband's legal cost. It is also worth noting that the amount does not include the $10,000 that both were ordered to pay to a dispute resolution company.
