Chinese President Xi Jinping have recently inspected his troops ahead of the celebration of China's National Day. President Xi also highlighted the need to strengthen the training of the army, as well as its preparedness of the military.
President Xi is considered as the most powerful leader after Mao Zedong, the founder of the People's Republic of China. He is considered as the head of the ruling Communist Party of China, the military, and the Presidency.
China will celebrate the country's 69th National Day on Monday. The following week will be filled with celebrations dubbed as "golden holidays." Many observers have noted that while the celebrations are ongoing, the whole country will participate virtually shutting down many of its facets and industries.
As part of the National Day celebration, President Xi, along with other leaders of the Communist Party of China and the state, will pay tribute to the national heroes at the Monument to the People's Heroes located at Tiananmen Square.
Xi is also the chairman of the Central Military Commission which is considered as the highest command of the two million strong military. As part of military preparations, President Xi inspected the 79th Group Army of the People's Liberation Army stationed in Shenyang on Friday.
During his visit, President Xi emphasized the need to strengthen military training and preparedness of the armed forces for possible conflicts. He added that it should be the armed forces' priority to win wars in case the country will be embroiled in one.
Following his inspection, President Xi proceeded to attend a briefing of the Group Army. He also delivered a speech highlighting the implementation of all important combat requirement starting from training and preparation.
He also implored the military to focus on opponents, tasks, and readiness of combat. He added that the military should firmly hold to its adopted initiative both in battle and when implementing strategy.
President Xi then proceeded to visit the training ground of one of the Group Army's aviation brigade. He was briefed with the innovation of command and coordination, equipment update, and battle strategy. Later on, he inspected equipment and weapons of the armed forces and proceeded to check some attack helicopters.
The Z-10 helicopters are considered as China's third-generation of attack helicopters that are all locally developed. Dozens of helicopters then went on to take drills which include aerial reconnaissance, various air assault strategies, and low altitude flight maneuvers.
