Tesla is currently pushing a big update for its vehicles and it's reportedly called "Navigate on Autopilot."

According to Tech Radar, this major update allows the Tesla Cars to drive themselves "from highway on-ramp to highway off-ramp." However, this can only happen with human supervision, which means the driver cannot fall asleep at the wheel yet. The upgrade reportedly follows the version 9 software update that was rolled out in early October.

Therefore, the vehicle will have the capacity to suggest some lane changes. They can take them itself, also, navigate it to the correct exit, and lastly, maintain a safe distance away from the other cars. These are only a few of what Tesla has been doing for a while now.

The prominent automotive company also said, "While initially, the feature will require drivers to confirm lane changes using the turn stalk before the car moves into an adjacent lane, future versions of Navigate on Autopilot will allow customers to waive the confirmation requirement."

They were also able to announce warning via a blog post as they reveal the software update saying drivers are still responsible and must continue being in control of their car until driverless cars are truly validated and approved by the regulators.

The earlier mentioned source added one of the ongoing difficulties in promoting self-driving cars is that humans are too willing to pass over their responsibility to the vehicle and allow their selves to receive distraction from something else. While Tesla is one of the most advanced autonomous motors around, drivers still have to watch the road because the consequences will be fatal.

Meanwhile, Tesla says their cars may now create two types of lane changes in order to keep drivers on their programmed route. Aside from these, they can also keep you closest to the program cruising speed. People will be able to set the speed preferences from the dashboard.

In another report, Forbes says almost everything has already been said to Tesla. Some say the company is operating at a loss and will never be able to recover under right conditions immediately. Still, the third quarter is not an exception and everything is an indication the company has found the stable way to generate the profits.

The latter source even pointed out Tesla is not an industry quirk anymore. A lot of people made fun of its production difficulties. People grossly underestimated the achievement to move from a standing start to mass production of over 80,000 vehicles per quarter.
