The fearsome Blightfather has been shifted from IX to haunt the Graveyard just south of the Asylum. Mind you, he's no pushover, if you took him on during the Blackout Beta know he won't go down without a fight.
There's another update that has been added to Call of Duty Black Ops 4. The idea here is to make Blackout even more dangerous for gamers participating in the battle royale.
The guys at Treyarch have added the Blightfather zombie boss but it's only for a limited duration. With the latest set of tweaks, the Battle Royale experience is about to get a lot spicier. Imagine going up against the iconic Blightfather, It's a hell of an experience.
IGN has revealed that for now, until the 13th of November, you'll be able to locate Blightfather toward the south of Asylum, near the graveyard. Just like in the regular zombie spawns, Blightfather's presence will be announced by a red light beaming into the sky.
Although the initial presence of zombies on the map already tipped us off to Treyarch's willingness to eclipse realism in Blackout, it's still interesting to see an actual zombie boss stomping around.
This update makes us very excited about the future of Blackout as it means Treyarch will keep to its word that the mode will be ever-evolving.
According to Treyarch, you'll be rewarded "handsomely" if you manage to take it down. However, this is no easy walk. It takes dozens of bullets to bring it to its knees. It's certainly something you might want to try with a squad as opposed to going it alone.
On the same note, Treyarch also announced that it will temporarily remove the 9-bang throwable from Blackout. The 9-bang is essentially a flashbang, however, its charge can go off up to 9 times depending on how long you cook it.
The idea behind suspending it is because the 9-bang was too effective at neutralizing an entire squad, even if that squad was reasonable spread out. Some have also complained about the inability to go prone while affected by the 9-bang.
It's not yet clear what will be done to balance the item to make it less frustrating to play against. But you can always rely on concussion grenades. They're stackable up to two times and can be thrown further.
The other Blackout changes include buffs to all light machine guns, the Swordfish, the Spitfire, the Rampart 17, and the Auger DMR. There's also a host of bug fixes will make for a smoother overall experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC starting at $59.99. The Solo and Duos playlists for Blackout have had their maximum player counts reduced to 88, as well, while Quads have been bumped to 100 players.
If you're interested in completing the mode's Character Missions to unlock new skins, the characters from the Chaos Zombies storyline are now unlockable via supply drops.
