Lyft, the local cab service provider, on Monday, announced that it's going to launch its very own Lyft Rewards in limited markets, in this December. To take on its rival, Uber announced its Rewards Program on Wednesday. Uber's offerings are spectacular and are enough to break the popularity of Lyft, as per reports. The company is literally offering concession on each penny, which a rider wants to spend.
According to TechCrunch, Uber launched its Rewards Program alongside loyalty offers for Uber eats as well. The incentives give the riders opportunities to win rewards, upgrade to a USD 5 credits points and thereby receiving upgrades to Premium service, including better cars and utilities. The users will also get a chance to win cash rewards on their regular rides.
Also, Uber has slashed restrictions on its cancellation terms. The riders will now be able to avail no penalty cancelation of Ubers cabs if they rebook in 15 minutes. The Uber Rewards Program is currently launched in nine cities: Miami, Denver, Tampa, New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Diego, and New Jersey.
Uber will introduce the Reward Program in the whole of the US by the next month. Additionally, reward offers will also include scooter and bike services. As a part of this Reward Programs, the company is reportedly also giving away perks to the valued riders. Uber will track a user's last six months' activity on the app and based on that it will offer new Uber Rewards.
The riders from these nine cities will now see a new Rewards bar in their Uber app, upon signing up to Uber rewards for free. Users can utilize these reward points on various services provided by Uber, such as cab booking (in both Pool and uberX) and Uber eats, as per Cnet.
