Niantic has finally made good with their promise to deliver a full augmented reality "Pokemon" experience with their latest update to "Pokemon Go." Fans of the mobile game can finally start battling other "Pokemon Go" players in the game's latest update as of today but the feature's debut seems to be bringing a few issues with its release.

As per Niantic's original announcement, "Pokemon Go" players will finally be able to challenge their friends and other "Pokemon Go" enthusiasts in both remote and on-site play. "Pokemon Go" players will either need to be friends on the app or use the QR code scanners generated by the game's battle feature to challenge other "Pokemon Go" players. As exciting and as simple as the new "Pokemon Go" battle system sounds, some issues have been emerging as reported recently by a significant number of players.

According to Eurogamer, "Pokemon Go's" latest battle systems seem to be having trouble with player versus player encounters. While the battle system's current feature of training against a computer-controlled opponent is running smoothly, the publication has found that battles with other human players seem to be affected by lag or a significant bug that makes certain pokemon start a battle with less health.

In addition, the publication has noted that there are also issues with the "Pokemon Go's" current battle notification. Some "Pokemon Go" players who are challenged by other players do not seem to receive the push notification that they are supposed to receive because of the challenge.

The most significant issue that the publication has encountered seems to be "Pokemon Go" battle rewards. According to the reports of users on the "Pokemon Go" subreddit, it seems that players who participate in a battle find differing rewards despite Niantic's emphasis that battle rewards would be consistent regardless of a players status after the battle.

For "Pokemon Go" players interested in what to expect from the latest battle feature, the "Pokemon Go" fan community "The Silph Road" has posted a compilation of bugs and issues on their subreddit. Reddit user u/luckyd1998 make an additional note that Alolan variations of certain pokemon still do not have their correct typing against opponent attacks.

It seems "Pokemon Go" players will have to wait for a while until Niantic is able to release a fix to the much-awaited feature. Hopefully, the new "Pokemon Go" battle feature can be fixed before the end of the year in anticipation of possible year-end events.
