The second season of "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" found Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) accepting her new boyfriend's marriage proposal. Benjamin (Zachary Levi) quickly fell in love with her because she's a fearless and unconventional woman, who is starting to make her mark as a stand-up comic.

But by the end of season 2, Midge found solace and comfort in the arms of her ex-husband Joel (Michael Zegen). It's pretty clear that the ex-couple are not yet over each other but does this mean Midge's wedding to Benjamin in "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" season 3 won't happen?

Even Levi can't answer if his character will end up waiting for Midge at the church aisle. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he's not yet actually signed on for the third season, but he would love to be back on the show if given the opportunity.

Levi also hinted that the Benjamin storyline could just be mentioned in passing in the upcoming season and his character may just disappear from the show altogether. Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino did this before when she created "Gilmore Girls," and the lead character's fiancé simply vanished in the storyline.

But the actor hopes it won't be the case for his character. Since Sherman-Palladino and the writers made efforts to build up Benjamin's relationship with Midge, Levi expressed that he should at least get a face-to-face with his co-star to wrap up this story, in case Benjamin has to go.

Last May 2018, Amazon Prime gave the show a third season renewal even before the second season premiered. The streaming platform was quite encouraged to grant the show more episodes after "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" won several awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series at the Emmy.

"Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" season 3 will likely begin filming this coming spring, according to Town & Country. So, fans can expect the new season to be available for streaming at Amazon around winter 2019, given that the previous seasons also had winter premieres. Sherman-Palladino said she plans "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" to go on until season 5 if Amazon still wants her to make more episodes after season 3.

"Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" is about a privileged 1950s wife and mom who learns that her husband has cheated on her. So, she moves back to her posh parents' house with the kids, decides to get a job and then discovers that she has a knack for entertaining people with her stories on stage as a comic.

In season 2, Midge realizes that she has the potential to become a star. But she also senses that this stardom may shake up her life and rock her comfort zone. So, she returned to her husband's arms, if only for one night, to get that sense of stability again.
