Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" season 3 has been running on the streaming platform since the Jan. 1. But viewers who have binged the show are now wondering if there's more to the tale of the Baudelaire siblings. Could the show get a season 4 or a spinoff?

Star Patrick Warburton, who played Lemony Snicket in "A Series of Unfortunate Events," told Inverse that he hasn't heard of talks about a fourth season. He reiterated that the show had a three-season deal with Netflix from the very beginning.

All 13 books from the source material written by author Daniel Handler were evenly divided into the episodes. Thus, there will no longer be "A Series of Unfortunate Events" season 4 since they've wrapped up the stories according to the books.

However, Burton also said that Handler wrote other books that also relate to "A Series of Unfortunate Events." He published "Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography" and "The Beatrice Letters" to provide more background stories to the characters.

But if viewers are expecting Netflix to do a spinoff based on these appendages, it might not likely happen as well. As Screen Rant pointed out, some of the details of these books have been incorporated in the Netflix show, so adapting the stories for a spinoff would seem pointless, as it has been done.

Meanwhile, the final season of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" ended differently. For one thing, the books did not reveal the mystery of the sugar bowl. Readers have been finding the answer to this since the last literature was published more than 13 years ago.

But the Netflix show finally explained the significance of the sugar bowl, which was found in the hidden library. As Kit Snicket (Allison Williams) explained in the series, the sugar bowl contained the cure for Medusoid Mycelium, the fungus that almost killed the baby Sunny Baudelaire (Presley Smith).

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" season 3 also gave the villain Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) a different ending. He got no redemption in this story and met a tragic fate.

Meanwhile, the final scenes of the show also time jumped to 10 years, where Lemony Snicket got to meet someone he did not expect. He also learned more about the Baudelaires, who finally escaped Olaf after he hounded them for years.

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" seasons 1 to 3 remain streaming on Netflix. The show also stars Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Dylan Kingwell, Avi Lake, K. Todd Freeman, and Lucy Punch.
