The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is reportedly gearing up for a young "Avengers" cast. The new movie in development, tentatively titled "New Avengers," is said to feature a different line-up of superheroes who will replace Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the movie's main stars.

According to We've Got Covered, Marvel is in the early stages of planning for "New Avengers." The film will center on the next generation of superheroes like Iron Lad, Patriot, Hulking, Wiccan and a female version of Hawkeye with her alter-ego Kate Bishop.

The group will also include Vision, which will not be the character Paul Bettany plays in the "Avengers" films, and an important character named Stature. The news further stated that viewers will actually get a glimpse of Stature in "Avengers: Endgame," the final "Avengers" movie which will run in theaters this April.

There have been theories of Stature's identity before. Fans have speculated she will be played by Emma Furhmann and the character is, in fact, the daughter of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in the film.

It would seem, therefore, that "Avengers: Endgame" will lay the ground for "New Avengers" as viewers will be finally introduced to Stature. But this shouldn't be surprising news since Marvel has said, time and again, that the next phase of MCU will feature new superheroes and new stars.

Comic book fans of the franchise may already be familiar with some of these superheroes' powers and abilities. Hawkeye's Kate Bishop has worked with the original Hawkeye, Clint Barton in the comics, which Jeremy Renner plays in the movies. Iron Lad is from the "Fantastic Four" stories, while Patriot is a grandson of one other character who was Captain America in the comics as well.

Hulking is a Skrull who may possibly be an LGBTQ character, while Wiccan is the child of Vision and the Scarlet Witch. Vision, on the other hand, is a hybrid that has ties to Iron Lad. Script rumors note that it will be Iron Lad who will "recruit" and form the young group of "New Avengers."

The unconfirmed movie is further boosting rumors of the role that "13 Reasons Why" star Katherine Langford would play on "Avengers: Endgame." Last October, Langford signed on to the movie but her role was kept a secret. Speculations now point to her character as Hawkeye/Kate Bishop.

Marvel has not made any official announcements regarding "New Avengers" for now. It is possible news of the new cast will spring up once "Avengers: Endgame" is released.
