There is a new chief of surgery joining the St. Bonaventure team on The Good Doctor season 2 episode 15. However, he's not going to be impressed with the special skills of Dr. Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore), which may put Shaun on shaky ground.

The Good Doctor producer Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0) will finally be introduced in the upcoming episode as Dr. Jackson Han, the new surgery chief. His first interaction with Shaun, however, will make him question if the surgical resident with autism should be retained under their employ.

According to the episode synopsis on The Futon Critic, The Good Doctor season 2 episode 15 will have Shaun bluntly telling a mother with a critically ill newborn of the baby's chances of healing. The resident's bedside manners, however, will put off his boss. The episode will air on Monday, Feb. 18, at 10:00 p.m. on ABC.

Shaun will not recover and redeem himself in this episode, though. Dr. Han will still think he's a liability to the hospital. He will try to permanently have Shaun banned in the operating room inThe Good Doctor season 2 episode 16, which airs the following Monday, Feb, 25.

According to TV Line, Kim's appearance on The Good Doctor season 2 will comprise four episodes. But it's perhaps safe to say that Shaun's job won't be on the line, despite Dr. Han shaking things up since ABC just renewed the series for a third season.

Meanwhile, The Good Doctor season 2 episode 15 is going to be another milestone since it will be the first time Highmore directs the show. Kim's character might not be impressed by Highmore's Shaun but the actor is definitely thrilled to be taking directions from their talented co-star.

Highmore also has writing credits for the show's first episode this season. In his previous series, "Bates Motel," Highmore has collaborated behind the camera a few times as well so fans of The Good Doctor may expect more of this in succeeding episodes.

The Good Doctor season 2 episode 15 will also feature Teen Witch star Robin Lively. The actress is an '80s icon who has also guest starred on Hawaii Five-0 and Major Crimes. Lively is the big sister of Hollywood actress Blake Lively.

The Good Doctor also stars Antonia Thomas (Claire), Richard Schiff (Dr. Aaron Glassman), Nicholas Gonzales (Dr. Neil Melendez), Hill Harper (Dr. Marcus Andrews), Christina Chang (Dr. Audrey Lim), Fiona Gubelmann (Dr. Morgan Reznick) and Win Yun Lee (Dr. Alex Park).
