Will The Gifted season 2 episode 15 immediately have the answers to the fate of Blink (played by Jamie Chung)? In the most recent episode, which aired Tuesday, Feb. 12, viewers watched as the character disappeared into a vortex while in a bad state.

No one knows if she will get to a safe place or die wherever she disappeared to because the Purifiers shot her before the vortex closed. The look on the face of Thunderbird (played by Blair Redford) also seemed to spell it could be over for Blink.

But in an interview with Entertainment WeeklyThe Gifted creator Matt Nix said that there's still a lot to learn from what happened to Blink. Essentially, Nix hinted that the superhero is not dead, but she's not exactly in a good place either.

Next week, The Gifted season 2 episode 15, will focus on Thunderbird's storyline. Perhaps devastated by the assumption that Blink is gone, the upcoming episode will find the character hitting rock bottom, as per the episode synopsis.

Polaris (played by Emma Dumont) will also be filled with remorse in The Gifted season 2 episode 15 due to the death of Sage (played by Hayley Lovitt). Dumont described her character as too destroyed to deal with the loss of her only friend because it was Polaris who caused her death.

As seen from this week's episode, Sage was mistaken as the mole who has been spying on the Inner Circle's data. Reeva (played by Grace Byers) did not think twice about killing her because she didn't realize the person who accessed the data was Polaris disguised as Sage.

Meanwhile, Nix expressed hope regarding the renewal chances of The Gifted season 3 and he also addressed the problems with the shows dropping ratings. Speaking with Slash Film, the showrunner said that there's a better chance for the series to thrive on a streaming platform like Hulu.

Nix acknowledged that The Gifted has a small loyal following of viewers who might not be the right demographics for a broadcast network like FOX. "But we do well on streaming so there may be, my hope is that there's something to work out in that realm," he said.

There will be two more episodes before The Gifted wraps up season 2. However, FOX may not announce if the show has been canceled or renewed until the upfronts presentation in May. Nix said that they would still love to continue with the series especially now that the characters are evolving, but the status of this X-Men spinoff series also hinges on the deals between Disney/Marvel and FOX.
