WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Chicago Med season 4 that may influence your enjoyment in discovering the plotlines. Read at your own risk.

Dr. Charles (played by Oliver Platt) and Dr. Manning (played by Torrey DeVitto) are going to have a conflict in Chicago Med season 4 episode 20. They will be working together on a patient who has been poisoning herself.

According to the episode synopsis for Chicago Med season 4 episode 20, the disagreement between Charles and Manning will stem from their different views on handling the patient. Which doctor, however, is correct when it comes to treating someone suicidal and mentally unstable?

The said episode will also cover the ongoing conflict between Dr. Rhodes (played by Colin Donnell) and Dr. Bekker (played by Norma Kuhling). Rhodes has more accusations against Bekker and this may have been set up to prepare for the actors' departures in real life.

Donnell confirmed in a post on Twitter that he will not be back for Chicago Med season 5, which was also renewed this April. Kuhling then followed suit and posted on her Instagram account that she's leaving the show after this season's run is over.

"A special thank you to all the fans that have made these last four seasons so amazing," Donnell wrote.

"Thank you, Chicago Med, for two amazing years! Going to miss this family, but feeling nothing but gratitude," Kuhling said.

Chicago Med producers did not divulge the reason behind the actors' exit, but a report from Deadline indicated that the crux of the problem might be related to the evolution of their characters. The producers felt that their character's storylines have been "played out" and thus there were no more stories to tell for Rhodes and Bekker.

Meanwhile, Chicago Med season 4 episode 20 will also highlight how Dr. Halstead (played by Nick Gehlfuss) will raise suspicions about Manning's new boyfriend. Incidentally, however, Halstead may have developed a new relationship of his own with FBI agent Ingrid Lee (played by Anna Enger Ritch).

As seen in previous episodes, Halstead and Lee have already shared a few tender moments. Lee softly rubbed Halstead's arms during the last scenes of Chicago Med season 4 episode 19 to indicate that these two are slowly coming to an understanding.

Does this mean that Halstead is finally over Manning? But why would he still be affected by her new boyfriend?

Meanwhile, viewers of Chicago Med season 4 episode 20 may have to wait one more week for this episode to air. The show will take a break for a week and return on Wednesday, May 8, on NBC.
