Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons) and Amy (played by Mayim Bialik received a proof that could be crucially damaging to Pemberton (played by Sean Astin) in The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21. This could be their ticket to finally discredit Pemberton in their quest for a Nobel Prize.

According to the episode synopsis for The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21, Kripke (played by John Ross Bowie) will show Sheldon and Amy that Pemberton may have actually plagiarized his college thesis. They could use this proof to turn in Pemberton, who is in the running for a Nobel Prize for work that Sheldon and Amy actually did.

However, Sheldon and Amy might have misgivings about reporting Pemberton to their college. The couple may decide to take the high road since they will perhaps won't like earning a Nobel Prize this way.

The outcome of their decision will air on Thursday, May 2, at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21 will be fourth to the last episode before the series has its big two-parter finale on May 16.  

The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 21 will also have B-story featuring Howard (played by Simon Halberg). He learns that aside from his wife Bernadette (played by Melissa Rauch), someone else had a crush on him at the Cheesecake Factory when they were still dating. 

The most recent airing of The Big Bang Theory season 12, which was on TV last Thursday, April 25, had Leonard (played by Johnny Galecki) getting a new job after agonizing over his dissatisfaction at work. Though he was gunning for another position, he still felt triumphant that CalTech made him the co-lead of a photon entanglement study.

Meanwhile, the cast has started to share their goodbyes on social media with The Big Bang Theory season 12 ending in three weeks. Kaley Cuoco (as Penny) posted the finale episode's script cover on her Instagram and said that she wasn't able to sleep after reading it. 

The cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory also received a school ring with a red gem in the middle as their parting gift. According to TV Line, they will be filming the finale episode on Tuesday, April 30.
